Muskegon Senior Millage Explained
Nearly 25% of Michigan’s population is over 60, more than 37% are over 50.
Senior Resources of West Michigan focuses on helping adults age with dignity and maintain active, independent lives. The Muskegon Senior Millage has contributed significantly to its efforts.
Since passing by a 60% majority of voters in 2016, the Muskegon Senior Millage has helped Nelson Neighbors aged 60 and over by partnering with local agencies to provide transportation assistance, personal care services, home repair, lawn care, and more!
Senior Resources of West Michigan and Age Well continue to help Nelson seniors maintain active, independent lives with additional programs, including help navigating the complexities of Medicare, lunch and activity centers, and the Medical Equipment Loan Closet.
The Senior Millage is more than just a program. It reflects Muskegon County's values and our commitment to our older adults. It's about ensuring they have the resources to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity - fostering a sense of community and belonging, empowering seniors to stay independent and participate more actively.
